*The Peoples Media Center & ALFGJ:

VISION Peoples MEDIA Center, Inc (PMC) is a grassroots media and arts production and community training project, empowering disadvantaged and disenfranchised people in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area. Our aim is to foster a global peace culture, grounded in justice and respect for the local community, the environment, animals and each other.

MISSION The specific purposes for which this corporation is organized are:

1) To instruct the public on media-making and emerging media-related technologies that are useful to individuals and beneficial to the community and bridge the digital divide in DC and world-wide;

2) To instruct the public on media related matters affecting their lives and livelihood locally and globally;

3) To provide journalistic, media and technical training to the poor and the disadvantaged;

4) To conduct leadership training, internships, workforce development and residencies, and to hold public discussion groups, forums, panels, lectures, cultural events and similar programs that will help individuals in the Washington, DC, community to develop media-awareness and fluency so as to better identify, showcase, develop and share local talent and explore issues of interest to the community. Peoples MEDIA Center will provide opportunity for a full and fair exposition of facts and basis for the opinions or viewpoints presented so that individuals and the public can form their own independent viewpoints and conclusions;

5) To own and manage property where such above-described and similar activities and purposes may be advanced;

6) To serve as a model for other communities that may wish to replicate some/all such services within their circles and/or foster inter-community communications about such activities for the benefit of all.

We deliver these services by enhancing the growth of individuals to afford them the opportunity to become productive members in our society, and by forging alliances with local, national, and international media networks, social justice organizations, government agencies, local businesses and non-profit service agencies & activists.

Welcome to a little piece of paradise nestled into a hidden corner of the Caribbean in Nicaragua. Our place is a small place, focusing on quiet tranquility, simplicity combined with beauty. We have four cabanas located on the beach, a dinning area, bonfire, hammocks and bathroom with running water. Electricity is provided by alternative energy sources, solar panels and wind mill. We are located on the North Eastern corner of Little Corn Island, a short twenty minutes walk from the village and the warf.

*Bluefield’s Sound System:

The Bluefields Sound System is a music and video production company dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Indigenous and Creole culture form Nicaragua’s Caribbean Coast. Current Projects, Bluefields School of Reggae:

Bluefields, Nicaragua has strong cultural traditions, however due to its turbulent history and lack of resources those traditions are being lost. This program will provide free music classes to young talented Bluefields artists. It is intended to bridge the gap between the old and new generation, and nuture Bluefields traditional Maypole style. It will provide employment for the old songters, while pave the way for a new Bluefields sound.
